Rogan Josh

To understand the origins of Rogan Josh we travel back to the land of Persia, now known as Iran. Curries were popular in this ancient country, but when the temperatures reached stifling point, a group of travellers called Moghuls left their homeland of Persia and made their way to Kashmir because of the cooler climate. Along with themselves, they brought their traditional curry. And it was there in Kashmir where Rogan Josh started to evolve with the introduction of red chillies which were added to create the flame red look of the curry dish you see today.
